An award winning pic taken on Dec 28th 2004 in cuddalore, TN, 2 days after the killer tsunami

Had a lonely lonely christmas

A usual tiring X-mas

Wanted to have some fun

n soak up in beaches under the sun.

Been lazy for too long

so set out whistling my song

To the world i never knew

An unwelcome guest for a few

Watched the kids play with sand

Sculpting castles their dreamland

Friends engrossed in talk

A grandpa on a morning walk

Vendors tying balloons with a thread

naughty lovers blushing red

I embraced them with open arms

With a hug so loving n warm

Soothed them to be calm

and get ready for a heavenly roam.

Why did that lil' gal run away from me?

Screaming "mama,mama,help"

I ran behind her in vain

To catch her n ease her pain.

Suddenly i felt gloomy and sad

As a despised guest perceived to be bad

Leaving behind only cries n tears.

As i stood like a caught mischievious child

misunderstood and punished for being wild

I returned home with a heavy heart

lamenting for what i did

Took a new year's resolution

to never venture out of home again..

Writer's note-i twisted my imagination a little bit to see the tragedy from the tsunami's point of view, assuming it as a very much misunderstood creature.though meant to see things from a different angle,i wish peace to the victims
